Born in Takoma Park, Maryland in 1983, Nora Mattingly is an interdisciplinary designer with a longstanding interest in color and texture, and a deep appreciation for handmade objects. Mattingly received a MS in Interior Design from Pratt Institute in 2012 and currently lives in Chicago.

Mattingly co-founded Assembly Design with furniture designer Pete Oyler in 2012. Assembly creates high quality objects with a forward-thinking aesthetic. An award winning studio, Assembly's work has been exhibited (inter)nationally and has been published in numerous (inter)national magazines including the New York Time's T Magazine, Elle Décor Italia, Dwell, The Financial Times, Wallpaper, Interior Design Magazine, and Modern Painters.

Mattingly served as Director of Interior Design at award winning architecture firm, D' Apostrophe Design, from 2013-2016 where she oversaw residential, hospitality, and commercial projects in NYC, Miami, Long Island, and Los Angeles.

Mattingly is currently the Director of Design at Leslie Jones & Associates, Inc., an award winning design firm in Chicago's West Loop with a focus on high end residential interiors.
